Hello Everyone. Im Brandon, and new to these forums, so I am probably posting in the wrong place, but I would like to ask this...

If I Have MECHAssault 2: Lone wolf, How can I extract all of its sound effect files? (Mech Footsteps, Weapon sounds etc..) into .WAV format preferably, if its possible.

Or if possible, if someone could do it for me.

Oh man, that is going to be a tough one. You're going to have to do some poking around the game files to figure out where they are stored. If you're lucky there will be a folder with all of the sound effects in the game in an easy to use format (possibly .WAV). If you're not lucky, they will be embedded into other game files that will be impossible to play on a PC. If that happens you're going to have to do some major coding work to figure out how to extract the data.

Anyways, just get DVD2Xbox and rip the game to your hard drive. Then use the file explorer to look through the game files to see if you can find anything that has to do with sounds. Beyond that, I don't really know what to tell you.

FTP my xbox? Wouldnt that mean I need a modded Xbox?

Which wont happen, I dont have a original xbox anymore, just a 360. And I aint taking that apart.

You aren't even on the right site my friend Smile This site is for the original Xbox. Our Xbox 360 site is over at www.360-hq.com. You can use the same username and password to sign in over there to see if they have any ideas on how you can go about this on a 360.

However, without a modded Xbox or Xbox 360, I doubt you can do what you want to accomplish. You need some way to rip the Xbox game disc, which a PC can't do. I'm not even sure if an Xbox 360 can because I haven't kept up on the modding scene for that console.

If I had Mech Assault 2 I'd look at it for you but I only have the first one. Sorry Sad

360 cant rip XBOX game discs. Only a modded XBOX can rip an XBOX game disc. 360 plays XBOX games via emulation (crappy at that) and has no original hardware so doesnt have the ability to dump the disc.

You would need to find a power adpater, a driver for it, and software that can read a disc from the opposite edge. XBOX ISO are a mirror of a 9660 ISO. 1 reads outide to inner layer other the opposite.
