This is noob questions about hardrives for the XBOX
When I modded my xbox I had to get a larger HD. The stock Xbox HD is far to small. As IDE is old, I had to use ebay so bought a 400GB from their. It went wrong on me so now I only have 80gb but the drive works much better than the crap segate one I had.
I have seen many ways to do this on xbox. The PC swap trick is the most common but it's far to much hassle and a bit complicated.
I FTP over to the xbox Chimp2618 which is much simpler and you do it on the xbox, no pc needed.
My drive at the moment is only 80Gb but I read you need to format larger drives in different clusters. I don't think chimp can do that.
So is their a way that I can create and image file with my soft mod and emulators on one backup and then use your PC and do a clone HD?
XBOX uses FATX which is not compatible in windows but if something like paragon backup was used, that would make things so much more simple. It would have to be made to format and work with xbox only just in a windows environment.
I also wonder if it could be done without the EEPROM or you add the EEPROM before you restore and xbox image?
Any thought or ideas on this? I'm not an expert so thats why asking and putting foward ideas.

To add.
The way I think it could work is, you would boot your main windows IDE PC drive on primary master and you put the hardrive you want to use in your xbox, on primary slave or secondary master, slave.
You then install your SPPV xbox HD clone software . You would then add what you want to the main files like roms and other apps. The software would build an image that is made to only work on XBOX. You save the image on your PC but you use the same software to restore the xbox image on to your new larger xbox HD. All from wnndows XP or win 7 computer.
No linux cd's or messing around swapping IDE drives and cables.

By far the easiest route is to use AutoBuilder, but before actualy running it go into the Files folder and add any apps you want to the apps folder and emus to the emulators folder. Just bear in mind if adding you may need to remove some stuff to make it fit to disc. And those are the only folders that should be modified, the others can leave you with a messed HDD and force you to go back and do it again. Also bear in mind its designed to be ran on a PC, no on the XBOX build ability.
You can also zero out all your XBOXs to use the same eeprom so you would only need 1 disc. This is very dangerous and you run a very real risk of bricking the XBOX if done improperly. If interested in such an option look up ConfigMagic EEPROM switch/change
For building on the XBOX by far the best choice is Hexen and using the LBOXHDM app included in it
