Hey all, I am looking for some advise/help with an xbox. A quick overview of my problem is my xbox boots to "XBOX Xecuter2" splash screen and no further.
I had a perfectly fine modded system untill i ftp'd and loaded games (which i played and was fine) then ftp'd again and copied (not cut) my evox ini just so i could take a look at it... interested in trainers. After that is when the boot problems started. I tried to rebuild the drive with autobuilder v4 (great proggie btw SPPV) and everything seemed to go fine but still no boot. I have two other (clean) drives i tried this with and no luck. Here is some info about what i have and used:
-xecuter 2 chip
-1.6 xbox
-3 different 320gb drives (including the one that HAD worked)
-AB v4 ran on win 7 x64 (no error during process)
-lots of tylenol (for the headache its giving me)....
Other notes: My xbox will not run dvds (ritek -r's), dont know why. When i made the linux iso it put the files for C,E,F in the "pimped" folder which i thought it was supposed to and after it didnt boot past the splash i then build another linux iso with the addition of coping the C,E from "pimped" and pasting into the root of "linux" folder where there was an empty directory of C,E,F. So, both the C and E of folders "linux" and "pimped" had the same files. I would have copied "F' too but that made the iso 7.xxgb. Basically I have tried everything i know to do and no luck. I just got my daughter into playing NFS HP2 with me on there too and shes real good for 6yrs.. I really wanna fix this. Any ideas?

Quick question Did you try to use the Autobuilder disc you burned on the XBOX or did you remove the HDD and do it on a PC?

On the PC. It ran throught the process with no errors. Correction to my post tho, I believe it boot failed after i copied the evoxconfig ini. Is that the problem maybe? why it just barely makes it past the " config live loading" ? Is ther any way to put that ini into the linux iso i build using AB?

I have had the same issue recently, where it wouldn't boot
Some time ago I transported my xbox to the girlfriend, as she was sick, so that she could play. As I got home she phoned to say that it isn't booting.
I got there the next day, and it booted fine.
A few days later it failed to boot again. ( stays at the xbox logo)
Anyway, turns out it was the DVD drive in my case. It also wouldn't read dvd's while in this state.
Try the folowing:
- Turn it upside down and see if it will boot
- take the cover off and tap the drive with your finger tips all around the top (this was the most successful for me)
- take you nails and fiddle with the tray while it is loading
It then got to the point where it failed to load, period.
Popped in my other Drive and it has been hundreds ever since.
I must still take the drive apart (Samsung 605F - Shitty drive by the way) and try and see what is causing it to fail.
Good luck

Thanks gouraami for the advise and reply. This wasnt the case for me this time but you have given me one more "tool" to try when/if I need to trouble shoot again. Thanks man.
I tried burning the latest XBMC Install/Dash Repair disc (1.37gb) again with the same brand dvds but with a different burner in my PC, tossed it in the xbox and tada! Worked like a charm! My daughter and i now have some cops to crash on NFS HP2!!
Thanks SPPV for the awesome tools/apps you make (or help make) and share with the rest of us. Your hard work is very much appreciated!!
Thanks to everyone else who dedicate their time and effort working on projects that allow our consoles to stretch far beyond their intended limits and then go a step further by sharing them and providing support when they can.

No worries man. Far as apps go Im pretty much on my own. I bounce ideas off Hobbsm, LegendaryFire and the Xtras team, but otherwise I write them myself from scratch. Gonna be taking a bit of a break though. Starting university and just got a new job so I gotta concentrate on that stuff more than writting new apps etc.
Im glad you like them, I try to make them as functional as possible, with no waste to frilly things to make em look fancy. And just for future refrence when using AutoBuilder with a chipped XBOX
1) Always pick the stock EXE
2) When its done copy the evoxdash.xbe for the dash you want to pimped-C and the rest of the dash files to pimped-E
If you just click one of the dash EXE's it will set you up for a softmod XBOX which Im thinking is what happened here.

I have a Sumsung 605F... oh well :/ It works for me, and is very quiet (not like one of the 'good' Thompsons I have in another Xbox, keeps on whining ALL of the time), although it does take a while to read some discs. Guess I need to clesn the lens or something. Any tuts on that? _________________
