Greetings, first post here. Just have a few questions that I was curious about and having a hard time finding answers (here and googling)
Have 3 Xbox's:
1 with mod chip and Avalaunch dash
1 with a softmod and ndure install Evox
1 with a softmod and I used Autoinstaller deluxe with Evox
(I put larger drives in all of them after modding)
Anyway the 3rd one is a Halo green Xbox with the latest Halo2 system update before soft-modding running Evox with a large drive. I made a virtual C with eeprom for HD and have backed up everything and have the standard E: drive F: drive partitions etc.
- I noticed that the ring of light on the Xbox is yellow in color. Is this a custom color from the autoinstaller deluxe softmod method? I think its pretty cool but not sure how it got that way.
- Also, this only happened once.......when I booted my Xbox the Unleashed dash came up saying there was a problem with the dash (I never installed that dash so I'm not sure how it came up). I ended up re-installing Evox from the CD and all is good. I thought that was strange. One thing that did happen was I accidentally clicked on Load MS dash from the Evox menu, it hung. I shut off. Rebooted and Evox came back up. Next day I got that Unleashed dash problem. Not sure if thats what caused it or not.
All is ok now but I thought I'd ask if anyone can explain those two things.
Thanks...great site.

First off welcome to the site hope you find everything you need.
As far as the light goes its comon for the orange/yellow light you can even go into settings and make it certain colours at certain ties. Like flash red during FTP or green, red orange when copying etc.
The unleashx would have been a rescue disc, when for whatever reason the dash cant be loaded, Ndure and SID autoload an Unleashx based rescue disc to allow you to get in and fix it. Chances are your MS dash got corrupted or the XBE isnt in the right spot causing a freeze or loop.
Personaly I would reccomend using AID to create a new MS backup (use the option create from AID) then do a removal/restore, remod it but use Unleashx or XBMC as your dash as they are the newest and most stable of the 4 main dashes. Also they have more features than Evox like disc ripping, file manager etc.

Thanks that answers the questions perfectly.
When I accidentally hit load MS dash from the Evox menu the system hung.
Two reboots later I got the Unleashx rescue screen where I reloaded the Evox dash.
I'll do the AID thing and load up Unleashx.
thanks again!

sounds like the load MS dash link in evox is pointing to the wrong file. you could edit this yourself via ftp and check it.
good to see SPPV got you sorted with everything else. he is a wealth of knowledge and a great addition to HQ! I run XBMC as a main dashboard, the rest are just outdated really, still cool but outdated.
Thanks a million, I have no idea how I missed out on this website to begin with.
Its like a mini christmas finding this site and messing around with the Xbox again after all these years.
