Hi there,
I am looking for some answers as to what I am doing wrong.
Please help.
I have a modded xbox(chipped), and am using auto installer 4.52.
I installed the Atari7800x, MekaX, and Z26x emulators.
I then ADD MY ROMS followed the instructions in the auto installer manual for building rom set addons.
The roms did not open in their respective emulators(however the files appear, but game can not be played)
They were zipped with 7zip, and the compressed with winrar.
I then read that roms should be zipped with winzip, not 7zip, so I installed winzip on my pc, to make another auto installer boot disk,(with winzipped rom addons) only to discover that the iso file for auto installer has now been converted to a winzip file, and winzip will not open it!
Very frustrating, aarrghh.
Anyway can someone please help me.
I apologise for the long post, but I thought the more information provided, the better chance someone can help me.
Thank you

Save yourself the time and trouble and just FTP the zip files to the corresponding EMU, as for the files being 7 zip it is because 7 zip is your default program for zip files.
If you have winzip installed you can just right click any zip file on your PC and go to select default program and hit winzip, now all your zip files are winzip.
This same tip will work for ISO files but instead of selecting winzip as default you would select your ISO app like magic ISO.

Hi there,
So I have managed to get most of my emu/rom problems sorted.
I unzippped any compressed roms, and placed them all in folders and then zippped the folders.
FTPed as suggested(thank you for that), and hey, most of the games now play.
Had a little trouble with MekaX not playing games, switched to SMSplusX, and now most of those games now play.
Thanks very much for the help.
Oh yeah, and thank you for the info about the iso files.

One you could try clearing out the xbox cache folders and two you could try a different PS1 EMU.

Yes, clear your cache from E: drive and try different versions of each emulator.. Different versions run different roms better and some worse. Like Grand Theft Auto 2 PS1, i used to have to run a specific version for it to run correctly.
Try our VIP download area or VIP FTP Servers we have most of the older archived versions to try too.
