Is this list a hit and miss? http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/?p=list or have the author just made a wild guess "if the model WD1200BB works then WD1200Bj must work too! sp I put it in the list too"
I've tested some of the drives that are on he list and confirmed to be lockable but chimp and xboxhdm and the drives fail to lock since the don't support the security spec bla bla

Sorry i missed your post but i have been working my butt off..
I only just got some time over the holidays to get stuck into the xbox 1 website again so here goes..
You could check out our own Xbox Harddrive Database from the link i have left below.
anyway, I'm sure by now you have found a comptaible hdd laying around somewhere that you got to work. If you installed a modchip you wouldn't need to worry about locking the hdd at all since modchips bypass that check!

I've modchip'ed on of my xbox 1.6 recently...was lucky to find a smart xx v3 chip and a spider 1.6.
Plan to throw in a 750gig or bigger hdd using a IDE-->SATA adapter
