So I pull out my old xbox v1.1, I unmounted and restored the msdash through AID 5.1. After restoring the MSDash xbox boots fine. When I put in Splinter Cell (or any disk) game starts to load and then a message comes across screen,
Your xbox needs servicing Please call the cusomer care number listed in your instruction manual.
Before MSDash restore any disk would boot fine.
I have done a hotswap with no luck using xboxhdm, so I hotswapped with xplorer360 and replace Partition 3 with a fresh MSDash 5960 from my pc. Still the same error, no disk will read. I haven't had much luck with google or
the forums.

Well I was asking if it went into an error code after you tried to boot a disk because I was thinking it could be one of these error codes since I have never heard of this message before.
Error codes I was thinking of:
10 - kernel - DVD timeout
Actually its almost the same as error 6/7/8. But also make sure the yellow cables are properly connected to the motherboard and the dvd drive.
1. Make sure ide cables are connected good.
2. Make sure the yellow cables are good and properly connected.
3. Still no succes? Try another dvd drive of which you are sure it is working.
11 - kernel - No DVD Found
Same as #10 So read up please!
12 - kernel - DVD parameters (PIO/DMA)
Same as #10, only not very common. _________________

Thanks, but i double checked all cables and switch drives to veil.
The error is similar to the This is not a Xbox disk message you get before modding. But it tries to read the disk, it even loads to the xbox logo screen, then its says xbox needs service call number listed in your manual.

Thanks for your suggestions but I went ahead and set up a usb to run Xboxhdm, I have backups so figure I could save myself some time.
. I have used the cd version of xboxhdm several times and Xboxhd2 twice. I have my eeprom and ready go.
I started building a new xbox hdd option.
xboxhdm ask to build partition, I typed yes.
then it asked to set up F: I said yes and xboxhdm froze.

To be honest I have never used xboxhdm to make a HDD. I ended up chipping my first xbox and then just used that from then on with AID because it was so much simpler.
I know that there was a thread like this a few months ago where a guy was trying to use xboxhdm and it started freezing on F:/, I don't remember how he fixed it though. _________________
