I've got together all the prerequisites for softmodding an xbox, and will be taking the leap this weekend. However, before I do I have a question.

As of April this year, and since Microsoft have removed support for original Xbox games from Xbox Live, is there any point now in opting for a dual boot install when installing my softmod?

I'm leaning towards a regular install because I have little need for the original MS dash any more, unless anyone can offer a good reason?

Skip the duel boot unless you do a mod dash / sid duel boot, you can launch MS from the mod dash. Wink

Thanks wes213, I found your blog with a youtube video that clearly stepped through the process, so I set up a mod dash / sid dual-boot in the knowledge that I can use the sid boot to easily remove the softmod and re-softmod if I decide to try a different softmod setup (assuming there wouldn't be problems with that). Went for virtual c + eeprom in the end, while I don't expect that I would trash my c drive I can't say the same for our fast growing itchy trigger-fingered anklebiter.

Many thanks for making/posting that video, it helped to clarify the process to see a run-through.

Good to see that vid getting used bro and don't forget that if you do take the xbox back to stock that you need to unmount the virtual C drive first. Wink
