Hello!!! I changed my xbox hdd with a Maxor 80 GB and formatted with the autoinstaller deluxe, the last version.

The problem is that the xbox freezes at the xbox logo when i turn it on. But if i turnoff and then turn on again, everything works well.

Now, the hdd i have installed, as a bit old and used, because i was not able to find a new one in any shop. It is from 2002 and has been used almost every day up to 2008.

Is this the problem?? That the hdd does not start up so rapidly?? is there a way to retard the startup of the xbox so that the consolle will recognize the hdd????

Thanks ^^

Have you tried to just clear out the cache folders as they have been known to cause all kinds of strange things to happen when they get full. Confused

I have tried even reformatting all the HDD partitions... the hdd seems to start up correctly only if it is still spinning after the shutdown, and if it had just worked for hours and is still hot...

Hello,
I dont think Chimp will help you, Its a hard drive cloning tool used mainly by softmodders.
It sounds like your hard drive is on its way out, i have a test box that does the same thing, sometimes it doesnt start at all and gives me the FRAG leds, getting aggressive with it sometimes helps Twisted Evil

Try formatting it in your PC with the manufacturers tools, then try it in your xbox, other than that, i think its new hard drive time.
