I am trying to do the clone hdd so I can swap out the 8 gig for this 80 gig out I took out of my old chipped and now dead xbox. I softmodded this new one and got it working fine, now when I goto apps and run chimp it just goes to a green screen.
So then I goto cmd and run telnet 192.168.0.3 like it says and it just times out and doesn't connect. I have set the http setting to on, and set it to port 23 and put in the proxy as 192.168.0.3, the static IP for the xbox is 192.168.1.125
I have read what the other files say to do but nothing seems to be working just a green screen and telnet not opening a connection, please help?
Set the IP address on your PC to 192.168.0.2, then set the IP of the xbox to 192.168.0.4 connect the two with a crossover cable, then on the PC type telnet 192.168.0.3. _________________
Thanks, you got me a step closer but since I have to telnet in, I am not sure what I am seeing when I hit one and enter is an error code or what cause it is all jubbled up.
That works, but now ARRRGGG again another problem. This 80 gig is out of my hardmodder and broken xbox. So when I do 1 to scan i get this error code and I hit enter and it goes back to the main screen?
Well it was a sodderless mod so I don't honestly know. I connected it to my pc and activated it and I could have made it into a drive on my pc so I'd assume no? If so can I do anything about?
The problem is that it's all grabbled and unread able, so I can't tell if it was an error or suppose to do that. So do I just keep going and see what happens, I mean it can't damage the normal drive?
Also I assume formatting it or anything won't unlock it if it is? Since honestly I have no idea if it was locked or not this thing was from AWHILE back.
Yeah it must be locked cause I can get it all fine but it just won't work so I assume it's cause the drive is locked?
Okay hooked it to my PC and it seems all the data is gone which sucks but it can't be helped. It must be unlocked just formatted it to ntfs and set it as my z drive. Do you think maybe that's all it needed?
YES! Haha, my mate here was like why so pissed off I said the ide drive he walks off comes back and gives me a WD 320 gig and said just use this, it was in the parts bucket. It worked just fine from start to finish. I wanted to hit him and thank him at the same time.
Thanks for your help man, it seems to be working fine now, since the drive is so big is there anything else to do or just enjoy it now? Since it looks like I am missing a lot of space.
Looks like the rest of the space is set to Drive G Which says NG Orange/1741430.78 mb. I assume that means why the orange light is on it will not display that drive?
UnleashX is what I am running and yes I did format and enable it last night. I had to reset it twice but then it showed up. So now I got a massive G and F drive's which is fine, one for apps and one for games roms and movies. So it all works out.
Thanks again for your help, I was going nuts over the telnet thing since no where in there does it say you need to set your pc and xbox ip's like that. Oh also had I used putty to connect to it would it have been more readable or still just all garbbled junk?
Its good to hear you got it sorted.
I tried Putty on a Vista machine and didnt have any luck, I ended up reinstalling XP to telnet into Chimp, it would be nice to hear if it works or makes any difference. _________________
First off, how did you do that it was awesome. Second I was already grabbing the torrent, I didn't know it was an all in one pack. I was just looking for the xbe files and such. Does it emulate everything or no, well I shall see if I can google the developers site.
