I've had a modded xbox with harddrive for a few years now that I bought used from a friend. I turned it on today and instead of the menu I'm used to, all it will now load is the Evolution X menu. I've tried messing with all the options in an effort to get back to the menu where I can select and play games off the harddrive, but nothing works! Can anybody help me out here? Did the harddrive crash?

Only options and seeing are "MS dashboard" "Reboot" "Power off" "Settings" and "Backup", but nothing works!

Thanks,

S

Hello, Can you FTP and see if the games are still on the harddrive ?
Get yourself a copy of AID ( http://www.aidtracker.com ) and use it to install a new dash, you can also use the file manager on AID if you cant FTP

Def use AID, with AID all you do is burn it with an ISO program like Nero Burning Rom or DVD Decrytper and pop it in and reinstall the dashboard and your ready to go!

If you download and burn AID to a DVD and boot it in your xbox it will reset the ip address to static ip address of 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0 for your network.. This way you can easily match your pc up in the same subnet mask etc.

So in lamens terms,.

When you boot AID it starts a ftp service instantly with the settings i mentioned above.. So last resort you could try that too.
