Hi, I softmodded my xbox a year or so ago (Slayers EvoX pack), and have been modding halo 2 for fun for a little while now. I was starting to get tired of the factory 8 gig hard drive, so i decided to finally crack my xbox open and upgrade. I found a good tutorial online in which I didn't have to solder or anything.
So i took the hard drive out of my sisters old PC (80 gigs) and followed the instructions to fix the new HDD with the files for EvoX, and installed it in my xbox.
So the dash looked great. Everything seemed to work fine.
This is where my problem arrose.
I started by ripping Halo 2, Destroy All Humans! 2, KOTOR, and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory to my xbox. Everything went right along seemingly perfectly. The only thing that was different from my 8 gig drive than my 80 gig one is that the 80 gig's E drive is small. So i decided to rip to the F drive, since it had a large partition. So after everything was ripped, i started to try to play.
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory didn't load at all. I figured that didn't matter TOO MUCH, and went on to Halo 2. Halo 2 loaded the menu but upon pressing start, froze. I decided to see if ANY of the games worked. Destroy all Humans! 2 did, and KOTOR did. What I'm wondering is why Halo 2 didnt work, and why Splinter Cell didnt work. Is there any problem you guys could think of?
The only thing i notice that is somewhat similar between the two, is that they are both large games.
Should i not use the F drive? And if so, is there anyway to make the E drive larger through partitioning?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really dont want to go back to my factory hard drive.
Sorry if i wrote alot, i just wanted to be as specific as possible.

It's cool that you wrote a lot, gives us an explanation of whats going on you know.
So let's get to the matter at hand. Some games you will need a patch for before they will run off of the HDD, i don't recall halo 2 being this way, and never loaded splinter cell on there, but this could be the issue. Another thing is to remember to clear your cache folders out (E/Cache, X, Y, and Z as well if they are there) every once in a while to keep things moving well.
