Running XBMC with MC360 skin on Xecuter 3 CE on v1.0 Xbox with Thompson drive.

I have a strange problem. If i use an emulator disc and try to go back to the main menu, i get nothing. Just a black screen, therefore, I have to power the console off with the power button. After doing that, my "X" light on the front bank attachment goes to red instead of the usual blue and I get an "Xbox requires service" screen in green Xbox writing. To fix this, I have to take the lid off of my xbox, disconnect the hard drive power, power back on then power off, reconnect the hard drive and power back up an it boots back to the Xecuter chip. Obviously this is somewhat annoying and time consuming. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Why not move the EMUs to the HDD?

Is it a stock HDD and if it is what brand?

Yeah I plan on moving them there for sure. It just seems strange that it does that. It's not the original hard drive. Western Digital WD160BB I believe. Off to take the lid off and disengage my hard drive.....

With the games or emus on disk it might not look for the dash in the right spot causing it to boot to the MS dash in C, if your xbox hdd is not locked you get lock up or error.

i cant say why this is giving you a red X (chip disabled) but if you turn the chip back on and reboot holding the white button you might be able to bypass the HDD trick you are using.

Interesting. The white button on the controller? Forgive my ignorance. I never really even had a normal Xbox. Just bought one and modded it. Is it better to leave the hard drive locked or unlocked? Also, getting a "too many users are connected error on my xbox now when trying to access FTP. Any ideas? One thing after another with this thing...

Locking the HDD is only needed if you want to access the MS dash, if your like me then that is not needed at all.

If you do want to lock the HDD you can use the X3CL dash (booting while holding the white button trick) to back up the eeprom and then lock the HDD.

As for your FTP what App are you using and what OS are you running?

I'm using smartftp at the moment on Windows 7 beta 64 bit. I FTPed in with my Vista Home box and that worked okay. I copied an ISO over and extraced with complex tools but got errors. Is there something better to use to extract ISOs? thanks.

The pc based APPs cant read the XISO so they throw out errors so like darth said QWIX is the fast way to get it going.
