Hi. 2 weekends ago I got my Xecuter 3CE chip with the Xapt3r no soldering piece. I fished around online and got it together to the best of my knowledge based on what I found. Now, my Xbox turns on for a few seconds, goes off, comes on again, then goes off, and comes back on and sits there. I have no clue what to do at this point. I'm pretty computer savvy but I don't do much of this sort of thing so I'm not sure how to fix this. Video of what happens is at http://drop.io/xboxhelp. Any help would really be appreciated as I am pretty frustrated at this point. Thanks.

Don't know what that is. Link works fine for me. Type drop.io/xboxhelp in your browser should work fine.

It sounds like your D0 is connected fine but your LPC is wrong. Your D0 is telling your xbox to find a bios on the LPC port but nothing is there so its fragging. Try reseating your solderless thing on the LPC port.

This may be really dumb but I don't know what the terms you are talking about are. I have reseated the Xapt3r thing a few times. I read that if you are getting 3 blue lights on it, it is functioning correctly. I have also reseated the chip a few times as well. Thanks for your responses.

The first attachment is the LPC port. The holes the solderless adapter sits on. You might have to keep trying to reseat it over and over again. One thing I suggest is to make sure that there is nothing inside of the LPC ports that wouldn't allow it to make a good connection.

Gotcha. The area of the motherboard is the LPC. Well, I have version 1 which are filled with solder. Do I have to remove the solder? If so, how do I do that? I read that as long as you get the three blue lights you are good as far as the Xapt3r goes. Incorrect? Thanks.

Too tell you the truth I've never done a solderless install of a chip with a version that has solder in the LPC ports. I know on my V1.0 xbox I have I used the solder method with my X3 chip and I had to get the solder out. I would try getting the solder out of the ports before anything else.

What you need is some desolder braid from radio shack. Use a 15W fine tipped soldering iron. Put the braid over one of the LPC holes. Then put the tip of the iron into the hole for about 2 second. It should start to suck the solder up. Repeat this on each hole until it is all sucked up. It may take a lot of tries to get it all up, but don't let it sit for more than 2 seconds or the heat could damage the board.

I will try that. The whole reason I got the solderless piece was so I didn't have to get involved in all of that. Thanks for your help.
