i have an XboX V1.0 with a Phillips DVD drive. The problem is that when I insert a game in it wont load. Just tells me it wont recognize so and so. The CD's aren't scratched they look brand new and i found the numbers of the DVD drive VAD6011/21 POS Made April 2002 i checked the wiring its fine nothing else that seems wrong. I used the blower to blow if there was dust but it's clean it play from time to time but later it breaks down.

Pop off the top and use a q-tip with one drop of rubbing alcohol to clean the lens.
Using caned air to clean is good but it can stir up the dust and let it settle on the lens.

Worn out lenses are the most common cause of this sort of fault. If you don't feel happy opening it up and cleaning it, the only other option, as wes said, would be to get a new drive.
Check places like eBay or Amazon, or even ask around the site here. Someone always has parts for sale.
Ok i opend it up and i cleaned it took the risk of not being to sell it on ebay later ok. So i cleaned it and it still does the same thing . Any other options available?

Well your only options left are buy a new drive or buy a new lens and replace it yourself. _________________

Ok i put one of my myths to the test and it worked it seems by pushing down the cover of the XboX near the DVD Drive help the game load. Could this be something. It makes a clicking sound right before it stops reading by the way.

As a general note, clicking from electronics is never a good sign, whether it be a HDD or DVD drive
I have heard of the "push it down and it seems to work" method. However, this poses a problem. Unless you can find some way of applying weight to it permanently (and even that doesn't mean it's going to work all the time), I think its only a temporary solution.
I still feel your best option would be to replace the drive.
