I am trying to run the mechInstaller I got from SourceForge.net. Do I need to copy the files to a disc and put it in my xbox? the directions were not clear. Also later down the road after I install this softmod, if I want to upgrade my hard drive is it possible to copy the contents of my current xbox HD to the bigger drive, or will I have to reinstall the softmod on the new disk?

First get rid of the exploit you have and get the SID5 exploit here: http://www.aidtracker.com/

Next you need to do this: http://www.360-hq.com/modules.php?name=Profile&op=myblog_view&blog_id=249&id=90842

And last but not least if your xbox is NOT a 1.6 you can use chimp to copy your HDD and upgrade it to a larger size.
