I'd buy a 12volt power supply.

Here is just a start for you to get ideas from. It as well depends on the Xbox's power plug on the mother board. I pulled mine out when I was tinkering around, but I didn't count the pins or figure out the size. As well mine lives in the house opposed to in my Car.

Kizer thanks for the link it did give me the first step. I need a dc to dc power supply. I would also like to remove the xbox from its case and install just the motherboard and controller ports without the dvd drive and the power supply. to condense it as much as possible. i will use wireless controllers . I also believe that since i will eliminate the dvd drive i will have to scrap out and old dvd drive that i have and just install the circuit board so the xbox will boot. thanks for the reply. please feel free to give more ideas . CHJack
