Welp I've been seriously bitten and love the fact that I can play videos on my Xbox.

I had a buddy of mine rip some DVDs long time ago and I used to run them on my Laptop and now they live on my Xbox. They are of the 2Ch variety.

I've since lost the friendship per say and well I'd really like to take the nearly 300+ DVD's I have in my 400 Disc DVD changer and start converting "some" of them for playing on my Xbox.

Now I know most of them are capable of playing Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2Ch. I have the HD cables on my Xbox so I can use the Optical cable if I get around to purchasing it, but I do have a few questions and wondered what you guys think.

I'd like an easy solution for converting from DVD to Xvid/Divx with the least amount of program involvement. I've seen a tutorial or 3 and they are using 5 or 6 applications to do it. I really do not have the patience to use that many.

I know there are a lot of titles out there that have CSS protection, but there are a lot of applications that take that in account too.

Does anybody have any recommendations to which app to use and any particular settings for a wide screen running 720?

If I was to rip in 5.1 would it play in the 2CH or would it sound like it normally does if I try and play a 5.1 movie through my TV with out the receiver on. Just music and no talking? I ask that because I have a few movies that do not have a 2CH option in the menu unless there is another app that will convert 5.1 to 2CH?

Is there any particular Codec version that the Xbox will only play? I keep finding new versions on Divx.com and I'd hate to build and find out that the Xbox can not play them anyways. Shocked
