Hellooo everyone,

my problem is this:
I used to use a diskette for locking a new HDD (hdlock),
but it fell so my a: drive is gone...

I'm going to try it in windows cmd...

what would be nice is if it were possible to lock a HDD for another Xbox (v1.6) with Chimp (in a v1.0)...

I tried that once, I've put the eeprom of the other Xbox in several directories,
but it always locked it to the Xbox it was running on...
(and of course I used the option to lock it from eeprom file)

anyone a better way?
(xboxhdm does not work on my computer, the can't find cd-rom drive error after it boots?!)

thanks in advance,

regards!

Well if you have a chip in your V1.0 you can do this:

Get the eeprom off the 1.6 and ftp it your 1.0. Then use config magic on your 1.0 and switch the xboxes eeprom with the 1.6's eeprom (be sure to make a backup of your 1.0 if you want to revert back to its original eeprom later). Then put the unlocked new hdd into the 1.0. Lock the hdd and it should now work on the other xbox because you have used the 1.6's eeprom to lock the hdd. WARNING: This will only work if your 1.0 has a chip.

thanks for the info,
but that's like a hard job...
ended up using chimp v1.6 method using Telnet,
which worked great (though menu's not so clear and lots blacked out),
happy to have found that method,
never going back to using lockhd/unlockhd on pc (those long passes really aint fun to type Twisted Evil )

but I checked again, I've put the eeprom.bin from the other Xbox in a folder tmp in chimp directory,
but when I try to lock slave hdd with eeprom in tmp,
it always ends up using the one of the motherboard?!
