My housemate tried to play Gun online from the hardrive of my softmodded X-box, now it boots to the normal MS dash.

I can run the splinter cell save-game and get the SID 5 menu up again.

From there I can use file manager to load E:/Apps/XBMC/default.xbe which loads up my XBMC as it was before with all my FTP access, data, settings and network places accessible as usual.

The 160GB HDD which I put in is nearly full of movies, games and music so I really don't want to format it.

Is there any simple way I can just load the softmod on again without losing the data on the hardrive?

If I select install single boot Softmod from the SID 5 menu, will it erase anything?

Thanks.

Basically, the softmod installer will only format the C partition when reinstalling itself. If you have all of your movies/games etc installed on a different one like E or F (which I suspect you will), you'll be fine to reinstall without the fear of losing everything.

Excellent, thankyou for confirming that, I'll just make sure that nothing I want is on the C partition and do a re-install.

I might back up the entire C partition just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the quick reply.

EDIT: all went fairly smoothly - used the SID 5 menu to backup eeprom and C drive, then installed single boot standard softmod with evoX dash, then used the shortcut maker application to set XBMC as my dash - all data still intact and boots to XBMC just like it did before.

Thanks again.

I have the same issue, except mine will not load the exploit again, when you click the linux under Splinter Cell, it just reloads back to the main game menu. Is there any way to get SID back up? I would really like to have the dual boot option so I can always be able to get back into sid, What is the best method to do the dual boot with Sid when u hit the Eject button? should I choose the Virtual C? what is the most stable softmod to use?

Thanks!
