I've done everything I'm supposed to do to FTP my Xbox, but I can't get it to work. I can get the memory card transfer to work perfectly, though. I know it's possible to transfer non-saves (the SID4 Installer), but I don't know how to get around it. Can anyone tell me how to either transfer files indiscriminately to my memory card or how to trick Action Replay into thinking it's a valid save? _________________ Rebuilt Source Engine

hey im having the same problem (i think)
it wont let me put linux files on my ar mem card.
the ar mem card is not the best thing to use, i would reccomend using a normal memory card if you are using the action replay one.
if a guy named wes starts to help you, he will start you off in a good direction and most likley fix your problem.

Okay, I'm using an Xbox with the kernel version 1.00.4817.01 and the, um, D-thingy, at 1.00.5960.01. I'm using SID4 (I know there's a 5, but I've gotten 4 to work and installing 5 would leave room for everything to mess up). I'm using a router to connect my PC (an XP SP2 Essential my friend bought for me; that is, he bought the OS, not the comp) to the internet (the one I'm using for this as a slave, or peer, or whatever), and I'm using the second (out of 3) cable port for the Xbox. I have no clue what a crossover cable or direct cable is. All I know is I have a cable. I have all my FTP stuff set up like the guides say, only instead of changing my IP (which I can't figure out how to), I set the DDS and all that stuff on the Xbox to my IP. I've tried FlashFXP and Windows Explorer, but neither worked.
By the way, I've read online that disks have to be in a special format for the Xbox to read them. I popped my CD-R in XP, and burned the files. The Xbox read them perfectly (well, some ROMs were corrupted, but all the HL2 files worked perfectly.) Is this normal? Does UnleashX do this automatically or something?
Thanks in advance! _________________ Rebuilt Source Engine

Ok lets see if my net will run long enough to answer this one. lol
Ok so open your router settings and set it for DHCP not static, the go in to your xbox network settings and set it for DHCP.
Since your running a router it wont matter if you use X-over cable or Hormel cat 5.
Set up the FTP with the IP that the DHCP assigned to you and see if that works.

wait are the files zipped, if they are make sure the are not zipped and you might have to make a special folder to put them in so it looks like a game save, try taking a gamesave and open the UDATA folder and delete everything in that and put whatever you trying to transfer into that, just an idea but worth trying on your free time, let me know if it works.

Doing this with a mem card is the hard way for sure and he would be better off to sort out his FTP issues.

true, that would be a lot easier, just a quick quiestion and maybe y its not working out for Hazel, do you have to be signed into live or just be connected to a rouder or any other kind of connection.

No man, to FTP you just need to be hooked to the PC either direct with a cross over cable or with a router and cross over or cat 5.
Logging in to live will more then likely get you banned.

Just make sure you scroll down when you enter in your IP or in this case set DHCP and click on the save button. It stumped me for a while and really made me mad. As well make sure that you did not disable FTP.
