Your best bet is to leave them bad boys in there, if you have your eeprom backed up you can try anything and should be able to xboxHDM it for a quick repair.

A Friend brought his box over for repair, he said while he was watching a movie it did an xbox live update, which left him with a 250gb retail HD, it removed the previous softmod and returned it to stock MSHD. he lost all his game backups and apps. I question that this is what screwed his box up! when I tried to reinstall the softmod it would not take, meaning the exploit would never completely boot. so I used my eeprom reader and copied his eeprom over to my PC, then used xbhdmkr and rebuilt his 250gb HD, everything is back to normal and it is softmodded but this time I am trying to make it super noob proof! I backed up all his data with configurmagic to my PC then removed configure magic app from his box. cuz I was thinking that he was messing with configurmagic or xboxpartioner and that is what caused his problems. got any Ideas. thanks CJ

LOL thanks for looking in CJ.

Well if you must delete it then just make sure that you have a copy of his eeprom on your computer. If it was me I'd explain to my friend how to get out of the installer menu if he clicks on linux on accident. _________________

The Movie he was watching was a Starwars movie with a Demo for Leggo starwars and when he clicked on the demo is when it updated the dash with XBox Live. something interesting to Know. CJ

Most of the time running xboxlive update just gives you an error 21.
Replacing the MS dash will fix that.
