I bought an Xbox 1.0 from e-bay it was chipped with an Aladdin Advance chip, but it had no Harddrive at all inside the box. when I upgrade a harddrive I take the retail HD and the CD that contains XBHDMKR C+E+EEprom and store it on a shelf. Well I took one of these 8gb retail HDs and unlocked it using its CD. then I placed it in the new Aladdin chipped box. well it would not boot to the ms dash without giving and error. and when I could get it to boot to what I think was the chip ( cuz it said EXECuter2 ) on the bottom of the screen it was just a black screen. so while I was in the black screen I put a slayers disk in the DVD tray and the CD booted up fine, Ok here is my Question what I did was to rebuild the retail HD with 5960 dash and lock it and it works fine. could I have just locked it with out the rebuild and it should work. also I had to soft mod it completely. cuz when booting the chip it still goes to black screen could i remove the chip since I don't see a purpose for it . I can easly ftp the box can I flash the chip that way and make it work. sorry for the scattered Post. CJ

You can use aid 4.20 to flash your bios and then you will need to add a mod dash and all that.

when I got it, It did not have the Hard drive and I did not Know how to use the chip. so I used another retail Hd that I unlocked and locked it to the motherboard and I have a good Xbox softmodded. but still don't know how to use the chip?

Just make sure the chip is on and put in aid to set up a chiped dash, thats all you got to do really.

First you need to uninstall the softmod, that will pose problems later on. Then use aid to flash the chip with the X2 5035 bios. Then you will want to install your hacked dash using AID and your apps, etc/ _________________

well I installed a dash on the E partition. and I screwed all my progress up I can boot to the standard MS dash and with chip enabled I can boot up aid deluxe 4.13 but I can't install any dashes or access my softmod dash occasionally when the aid disk boots it boots to an unleash dash board with all the apps that are on the disk. is the X2 5035 bios on the aid disk. Im wondering how to recover this box. and I can no longer boot the slayers disk? if you can help please spell it out for me. thanks Jack

In the advanced option section of aid you will see flash bios, the X-2 bios should be in the list if you did your add ons right.
Format the HDD with xboxpartitioner and then do a chipped HDD install with aid and the dash you want to use, that should get you going.

Im working on burning and adding the addons. I did install EVOX on the chip side and I am able to ftp to the box. but apps will not run yet. and the MS dash is in some kind of loop or cycle ( flubber screen, big green X white MSlogo) then repeat. In system settings where it says current bios it say none and I am concerned about that. I should have left the damn chip alone and stayed with the softmod, but right now the chip is the only way to access the box. surely the chip had a preloaded bios or i would not have been able to load Evox? right.

what are the exact steps. when adding bios addons to the aid Iso which should I choose?. when I select bios flashing it hangs ( maybe cuz I don't have any bios to load?) I think I can pull this off since I have a dash and can ftp.

The AID download comes with a full guide on how to add the add on packs.
