I have a few old fash drives laying around that I have no use for any more. I have three of the 64mb kind and one 8gb hat has appeared to have died on m. It is recognized by my laptop, but it won't store any info or format. Does anyone have any ideas of what they can be used for other than storing useless files under 64mb? I was hoping be able to use the 8gb for something useful. $33 down the drain. _________________

Have you tried to format the flash drive from control panel\administrative tools\computer management\disk management? Or have you just clicked the right mouse button and selected format? _________________

wat brand is da 8gb, the memory sectors in the memory banks maybe corrupted, i had about 4 jumpdrives do that to me

I'm insulted Impwiz . I wouldn't not try and then ask. I said I tried to format it, but it won't work. But yes I did try that.
Crackface, It is my fault for trusting some power seller on EBay. He claimed all his drives were brand new and it did look that way when I got it, but it was obviously sent to me in the wrong package. So, I have no idea what kind it is. They should all be the same inside though. I'm wondering if it can be used for something other than flash drive. I can take it apart, but I don't know what for? _________________
