my buddys xbox keeps saying error 21 does anybody know what this is and how i can fix this

may i ask what you modded it with if you did and what version he has and a little more info if you would plz but to me it sounds like missing files
PS future reference plz dont start a topic with "help" or "question" try to put some what of the problem or concern into the topic title for those who have a great knowledge at what you want and can find you quicker

umm i dont know much about the xbox and im not the one who modded it...... i could try to find out the version and all that if it would help

error 21: This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag
Dash file got moved or removed and now you get a 21.
The good thing is thare is a good chance it wold boot up Auto installer deluxe and you can use it to fix it.
Has he or you ever opend the xbox?
Or is the sticker on the bottem still covering the bolt heads?

He may have been uninstalling the softmod and lost the dash, which would be really bad. _________________

Does it load retrail games? If so, I'd start the softmod again, and do it that way. Otherwise it'll be an XboxHDM job to rebuild the drive.
I see you guys have this all taken care of. It just does my heart good everytime I see a newbie question getting so much attention. That is what is so cool about HQ is that everyone was once a newbie and they don't forget that. Way cool guys! _________________
