hey again! thanks to the genious that is hypnotix, he helped me get the roms i needed and games i wanted to play on my xbox. he is a real great and wonderful kid who took the time out of his day to help me achieve what i wanted to do on my xbox. he is a great and knowledgeable person!!
i only have a few problems now that are probably minimal but still hard for me to figure out. i Googled surreal and tried to find out why my roms would A) freeze and no load or B) not work at all i really should say.
basially i did this-
/E/emus/Surreal64_V1.0/
thats the folder that was created when hypno and i FTP'd the emulator to my E drive on my Xbos. when i opended it, i had just a media file and a bunch of INI files and XBE files. I didnt know where to put the roms so i created a folder entitled ROMS and it loaded up with the games i had put on and the "box art pictures".
once that was done, i clicked on the game (for argument sake it was castelvania- the first on the list) and it would just freeze. i figured it would just need a second or 2 to load but no such luck. 5 min of being frozen, i resetted the system and left it alone.
Now, onto the google research- i found out that apparently there is an issue with teh INI file......
i tried to "copy and paste" it around and mess aroung with the TDATA file, no such luck
so what am i doing wrong?
i changed the INI file in text to
Rom Path=E:\emus\Surreal64_V1.0\rom\
Media Path=E:\emus\Surreal64_V1.0\Media\
it said on the google site that i clicked, where "emus" was it would be APPS
either way its still not working
it would be greatly appreciated if someone can help me up and run my games

I wold say delete it and download the surreal_FDB_v4.rar and reset it up worked alot better for me.

Sounds like you may also have a bad ROM. I had a version of starcraft 64 that would always stay in the black screen forever, but every other ROM would load. I say some other ROMS on it to see if those load. _________________

I think when i ran the v1.0 i had to keep my roms in the games folder with all my xbox games thats why i switched to the FDB builds.

i deleted it and redownloaded it
i have another emulator surrealXXX or something like that. i dont know how to load that because it is an ISO.
last time i tried to burn an ISO using nero, it wouldnt let me. maybe it was due to the fact i only had DVD-RWs? and i would need CD-R's?
anyways, what would i do? i have ISO buster which unlocks the iso revealing whats in it but i couldnt really extract it anymore than it already was.
also, doesnt the Xbox not allow the readings of CD-R's?
anyways about the redownload- i had the emulator saved on my "desktop" in a folder of other downloads. i deleted the old directory and did it again. no such luck. i even moved it into the applications folder on my xbox (since it was originally in the EMUS folder) and redirected the INI to the specific location. again, no such luck.
how do i go about taking this ISO file that i have on a different emulator and putting it on my xbox?

I use an app called iso magic install it and right click on the iso and select extract here then install the extracted files to ypur xbox.

*gasps* i have the same program! i just realized that lol whoops! sometimes when you uh get programs for uh...."free" you tend to lose track of those kindsa things lol
ill try that now-

i should keep it in emu's right? or should i keep it in apps?

Put it in emus... If you still have problems, take a look at this site--> http://www.eurasia.nu/ . Thats where I got my version and it works fine for me. _________________

Take this one, this is what i use. Unrar it and ftp the folder to your emulators folder, it should then work.

that and we both seem to have a Ver.1.2 xbox with 300gb hdd and X-2 lite chips.

how does it know what version i have? is it because i plugged my xbox to my router and this site detects it? damned if i know wtf version i have hahahhaa. <-- as i twirl my hair and act like a total dingbat with this stuff. this is my first real video game modification. i do computers and gun mods haha. other than that, this is all foreign to me. however, i dont think im doing that bad of a job i got some good teachers here to learn from

i shouldnt have to change the INI like the other one right? it should recognize the drive being in E not C or D right?
also on a side note- i used magic ISO on surrealXXX and it didnt even work on my xbox i dont know what happend but im almost sure that the program is "authentic"

ok i loaded the surreal version you gave me darth and everything is there on my xbox hard drive but the folder isnt showing up under emulators on my xbox when i turn it on?
what did i do wrong? i rebooted and i refreshed. nothing is working. i even turned off the xbox for a few seconds and still, nothing came up! GAHHHHHH!!!!
here are pictures so PLEASE for the love of god show me wtf i did wrong lol
step 1 as you can see i stored this in my E drive on my xbox located under "emus" i basically unrar'd the file, draged the folder and let FTP do its thing
step 2 emus has accepted the file with no file transfer errors. everything is intact and where it "should be"
step 3 all the contents in the file
step 4 where the roms were placed- im 99.9% sure the formats are correct but as you can see, i cant even get to it on my xbox- the only emulators that show up on my xbox when i turn it on is the NES and PSX ones. i had a similar problem with this trying to get my SNES one to work. i have the emulator and the roms but nothing shows up? i cant seem to figure this out!

Just to see move the rom folder in to /E/Games/ and see if thay show up.

No launch the emulater the games will show up on the right side of the screen.
