Hi guys,

I just bought an old XBox (1.1) and would like to put Xebian on it using a softmod. I have put the 5960 dashboard on and have a working usb-stick that the XBox sees as a memorycard.

The problem I have is that the xbox-linux supported method (MechInstaller) only uses MechAssault and I cant find the game anywhere to buy or rent. I do have Splinter Cell so I want to use that and Id quite like to check out XBMC anyway so I want to try SID.

I have a few (noob) questions:

1. If I use SID to install a new dashboard can I then install Xebian to the hard-drive? If so, how do I launch it once installed? With MechInstaller linux is added over the XBox Live entry in the retail dashboard.

2. The supported linux softmod apparently can have issues when the clock needs setting because its still using the retail dashboard (http://www.xbox-linux.org/wiki/Clock_Loop_Problem_HOWTO). Is the SID method immune to this issue because the retail dashboard is replaced or does it use the same trick to run the replacement dashboard?

Thanks guys for your help, hope the questions are too ridiculous Smile
