Hey guys. I have an old junked xbox that had a hardware problem (christmas lights). I also have two others that work fine and are softmodded with splinter cell exploit. My question is in regards to making a server. I have two 160gb WD external hdd's and i was wondering if it would be possible to use the controller ports on one of these xboxs to make a server. I would prefer to use the xbox with christmas lights, but i would be willing to use one of the working ones as well. I have a linksys wrt54gs router that i would like to hook it to, to use as a server over my home network. I know i could buy a linksys usb-to-ethernet adapter or something like that but i just want to see if i can build something before i go out and buy one. Thanks for your time

Do you want like a HTTP server, FTP server, or just a file server? With XBMC the HTTP server is definitely possible, and just about all dashes have the FTP server if you wanted to do it that way. If you wanted just a file server, you would probably just use XBMC's http server, and not have and index.html.
