I have downloaded AID about 4 times now and everytime I I try to burn the ISO file, it says its either damaged or in an unknown format. Am i doing something wrong?

I am trying to burn it. I have used both NERO and Alcohol120% (I use alcohol for everything and never have problems). Each time I either get an error saying the ISO is corrupt or my xbox just wont read the cd-rw. Its not the brand of disks because I have used them many times for other things.

Typically avoid CD's of any kind for Xboxs, so use a DVD. Second, if you've done it before (since I haven't checked nero for it) does it have the proper XBox format for discs? If so, make sure it's being used. Otherwise, I'd say just use the dvd burning software that came with it at low speeds and try your luck there. Hope I helped a little.

Isn't AID 4 too big for a CD-RW lol? Cuz cd's hold 700 MB of data and AID 4 is like 800 and some megabytes. _________________

well, if you update the iso like it says with all the skins and other add on's it makes the ISO about 1.5gb.
u tried at first using Roxio to burn the ISO and when it didnt work the first time i just used the DVD software that came with the download.
so, no point in trying to use a 700mb cd if you want all the good candy that came with

Hope it works for you this time!
When I modded my xbox I followed all the tuts as mentioned, burned to CD-R or DVD-R.
After 1/2 a dozen failures I burned to DVD+R and my xbox read the media with no problems. I can't burn anything to DVD-R or CD-R as I get a message saying something about wrong media type.
For some unknown reason I had an unmodded xbox that would play burned dvd+r movies long before I ever modded it!!!! _________________ xbox v1.2

The AID software comes with DVD Decrypter, burning software we recommend to use when burning AID. There is a guide on how to use it to maximum effect in the AID manual. Have you not read it?

Here's a little fact for all you that don't know it:
Xbox ISOs can not be read on the PC like normal PC ISOs.
You can burn them like normal, but if you try and use many programs to actually extract it or open it (like winrar etc) it will come up as corrupted, this is because Windows doesn't read the Xbox's filesystem.
Hope that clears a few things up...

Ok, I burnt it to a DVD-R and followed all the steps in the manual. I put it in the xbox and rebooted, at first it just stayed on the Xbox boot screen and then after about 45 seconds, it booted AID. Everything seems to be in order now.
Here's my question...
I allready have a softmodded box (via hotswap). I have xbmc installed allready and I just want to make that my default dash without messing anything else up. Can this be done with AID? I read thru the manual and didnt see any instructions on doing this.

Unless of course you use Qwix which is a pc app that can read/extract/create xbox ISO's
