Hello I have just joined as I need much help, being an old man with a new toy and a steep learning curve I hope you all will not mind if I ask lots of questions.
I have a xbox with mod but how do I find out what mod type it is?
With my xbox it freezes with most games, originals, backup, from HD any hints, it doesnt seem to be heat related as it happens straight away 1-2 minutes, and seems to be at random points in the games, so far with baldur gate 2, pronce persia, crash bandicoot, thief
I cannot set the internal clock, from dashboard I got to MSDashboard and set the clock but it doesnt last long
Unfortunately the person I got the xbox from has disappeared
Any help is appreciated and reciprocated

Well first thing you'll need to open up your xbox. There is a guide to it in the tutorials section on this site. Take a pic of the modchip and I'm sure someone here will know it or it might have its name written on it. With the freezing problem I'd suggest removing the chip (if it's installed on header pins it will just pull off). Then boot the xbox. It should boot to the MS dashboard if it doesn't it's likely you have a faulty xbox. If it does work it could be the modchip or modified hard drive files. Try using the xbox-hq autoinstaller found in the downloads section (it's pretty easy to use) and reinstall all the needed apps. If that doesn't work the chip is probably faulty. How old is this mod? It may be an older chip and bios that is having issues with the newly hacked games.
If you can find out what chip and bios you are running, we can probably be of more assistance.
You can always download our autoinstaller and run the bios checker to see what info gives you.

Hi again, have opened the xbox and there doesnt seem to be any mod board inside, i would post fotots but not to sure how to?
Any help on this would be appreciated
Can the Xbox run evoxdashbaord without being moded or run backup games unmoded?

If ur Xbox is not modded u can not run Evox or Backup games....
(but i think theres some kind of softmod no idea how it works tho )
