Ok,

Well i just upgraded my hdd from stock to a 200 gig Maxtor DiamondMax 10,
it plays my other games fine, but i tried to boot UCII from my F drive and it froze at the loading screen.

At first i thought that it might be TDATA so i went in and deleted the folder, and any profiles attempting to load any of those characters on bootup. This did nothing still froze at the loading screen.

Then i tried a backup disc i had and that didnt get me any farther. So i decided to go and grab my official copy of UCII when i booted it with this, it made it one step farther then froze. It gets to where it would come up with the main menu and it freezes before any of the options appear.

Now im not too sure but for some reason i think that it might be the hdd maybe it doesnt like the temp drive it stores to. It stores to the Z drive for its quick access info.

If any one has any info on what my problem sounds like please let me know.

Thanx in advance.

-Nava

Go to the E drive and delete the cache folder. Then delete anything that is in the X,Y and Z drives and try it again. Let me know if it works.

Hey,

Yea that worked it booted first try after that thanx!

And i have one more question even though its a little of a tangent from what this thread is about, but ill go for it.

I just created my new drive like i stated above, its a 200 gig.

Now i accidentally formatted the G drive instead of the X drive when i was deleting the files. and it gave me 63,383 mb more than what i had.

My question is why did it hide that space from me? And is it or is it not bad that i formatted that partition?

Please get back to me on this

Thanx in advance

-Nava
