Quick recap of what I have going on.
Installed a softmod on the retail drive.
Backed up to my PC and backed up to the e drive.
Installed XBMC on orignal drive - mistake.
Was getting error 16.
Could not find a copy of my eeprom anywhere.
HD was locked so I went to a website online that can unlock it over the net.
XBOX drive now unlocked.
Loaded XBOXHDM and explored directoy on drive. NO EEPROM BACK UP.
C drive was blank.
Rebuilt the C drive using XBOXHDM. Used a friends ISO to do so.
Turn on the xbox eroor 05 which means drive isnt locked.
Online service will give me the password they found in unlocking my drive.
If I get that pass is there some way I could lock the drive and will it work?
In other words, do I NEED the eeprom or can I get the box to work without one if I can lock the drive again?
Is there some type of eeprom editor I can use and modify my friends eeprom file to my HD PASS, serial, etc?
Ive been reading for days. I know some guru here could easily answer these questions.
Thank you in advance.

ok check it out, tht aeeprom, locks the hdd with that mobo and will only work with that mobo. What you will need to do is either obtain it from them like you suggested if they can even do that for you, build an eeprom reader and get it taht way, or just chip the xbox, which chipping it would be your best bet honestly!
I was able to look at my e drive again using xboxhdm and saw that my eeprom and hd pass are there!
I dont have a copy on the pc and without being able to boot the xbox how do I get that info over to my computer so I can create an iso image with these files? Im so lost
Thanks for the reply.

Have you tried to ftp the eprom to your normal computer to make a back up? And if so did you use a cross-over cable. _________________ RastaCalavera

if the xbox drive is unlocked then it should be accessable through windows (or whatever other os you may be using)
So heres what you should do:
1. Slave the xbox drive on your pc and startup.
2. Backup the eeprom.bin file to your pc in no specific location just make sure you know where it is.
3. make a new xboxhdm disc with all the same stuff but this time put your eeprom.bin file in the eeprom folder that comes with xboxhdm maker.
4. turn off the pc, disconnect every on hdd but the xbox one.
5. boot with the xboxhdm disc, when first pormted select option 3 to boot with xbox hdd locking/unlocking utilities.
6. when prompted type in lockhd -a and it should lock the hdd with the eeprom key and generate a hdd key that will work with your xbox.
7. your done! you can now remove the xbox hdd from your pc and connect it to the xbox it should now boot without hassle of booting to error code 5 for unlocked hdd on default bios.
That should be it!
Tell me if you have any problems.

A crossover cable is only necessary when connecting the xbox directly to the Computer NIC card. If you run through a hub or router of any kind the crossover is no longer used. _________________ xBox v1.6 - 300GB SoftMod Samsung 605 DVD || xBox v1.0 - M$DASH Samsung 605 DVD || xBox v1.0 - M$DASH Phillips DVD || xBox v1.1 - M$DASH Phillips DVD - On Loan
