Can someone please tell me the easiest way to restore a screwed up soft mod?
Details -
I was using the Splinter Cell softmod exploit and got to the install softmod step and got an "unrar error". Like a dumb ass I deleted the linux files and gamesave from the xbox HDD. It still boots games but no MS dash.
I'm just trying to find the easiest way to fix the problem.
I've read that the unrar error comes from using composit video cables, could someone confirm this?

I would use AID to restore your box back to its happy soft-modded self.

No I don't have the AID disk.
As far as happy softmodded self it didn't even make it that far. I got the the install soft mod step and that's where the process stopped for me.
Will the AID disk fix what I screwed up and where can I get it?

as far as i know the AID disc can fix most problems. you can get the .tor for AID here....

I'm dl'n the torrent now.
From what I'm gathering I can burn all this stuff to a CD-R and then load it into the XBOX and it should take care of the problem.
I keep reading something about making sure I burn the iso file.

the iso you'll be making is going to be more then 1 gb so you'll need capability to burn DVD's. and last time I made the iso it came with alot of other apps and such that you can add onto it. I found that useful because i never know what i may need later on. so if i were you i'd load the iso up with everything it has and burn it to dvd for what you need now and possibly in the future.
