I modded my XBOX about a year ago and everything is working great. I just bought a HD pack so I need to enable 480, 720, etc. The problem is that I can't get in to my original xbox dashboard.
If I run c:\xboxdash.xbe from EVOX I get the XBOX splash screen and then it reboots.
My C drive contains the following:
drwxr-xr-x 1 XBOX XBOX 0 May 11 11:41 ..
drwxr-xr-x 1 XBOX XBOX 0 mar 12 13:23 Audio
drwxr-xr-x 1 XBOX XBOX 0 mar 12 13:23 Skin
-rw-r--r-- 1 XBOX XBOX 17068868 mar 12 13:23 XBox Book.xtf
-rw-r--r-- 1 XBOX XBOX 15613736 mar 12 13:23 Xbox.xtf
-rw-r--r-- 1 XBOX XBOX 770048 mar 12 13:23 evoxdash.xbe
drwxr-xr-x 1 XBOX XBOX 0 mar 12 13:23 f0nts
drwxr-xr-x 1 XBOX XBOX 0 mar 12 13:23 fonts
-rw-r--r-- 1 XBOX XBOX 1634304 mar 12 13:23 msdash.xbe
-rw-r--r-- 1 XBOX XBOX 1916928 mar 12 13:23 xboxdash.xbe
drwxr-xr-x 1 XBOX XBOX 0 mar 12 13:24 xboxdashdata.1012A700
drwxr-xr-x 1 XBOX XBOX 0 mar 12 13:24 xodash
-rw-r--r-- 1 XBOX XBOX 31261 feb 23 21:26 evox.ini
Based on some Google searches I wondering if it has something to do with the fonts. The contents of the fonts directory is:
-rw-r--r-- 1 XBOX XBOX 473 mar 12 13:23 bert_ate_ernie-5101-01.xtf
-rw-r--r-- 1 XBOX XBOX 40 mar 12 13:23 scraps.xtf
The contents of the f0nts directory (note the 0 instead of o) is:
-rw-r--r-- 1 XBOX XBOX 19124720 mar 12 13:23 Xbox.xtf
-rw-r--r-- 1 XBOX XBOX 14440996 mar 12 13:23 XBox Book.xtf
I tried to copy Xbox.xtf and XBox Book.xtf from f0nts to fonts and when I run xboxdash.xbe it simply black screens.
A friend gave me a copy of his shadow C. I copied that to F:\Dashboards and tried to run xboxdash.xbe. I got an error 21.
Basically I want to enable the hi-def outputs. What is the best way to do this based on my current situation.

What kind of mod do you have? Soft or hard? 2nd thing do you have AID 3.10 and if not get it. It can be downloaded from the download section on this site.

I have a softmodded box. It was modded using a somewhat custom variation of the Slayer autoinstaller disk.
I've begun downloading the autoinstaller. I'll post again when it's complete.

I've finished downloading AID. The thing is that I'm not modding my XBOX, I'm just attempting to get in to the original dashboard. How is this going to help me? The other question is do I require the original hard drive? I seem to have misplaced it.

Wouldnt the resolution setting in Avalaunch dash be the way to go?

I've read posts that say the EEPROM write back feature in Avalaunch is not the best to use. I'm concerned that it may corrupt it. Has anyone else had better experience with that?
I'll mess around with AID to try and launch the MS Dashboard.

I installed the latest and greatest XBMC which has the ability to toggle those settings. I enabled 480 and 720, rebooted my XBOX, got the splash screen and then nothing. It looks like it's trying to display something but the screen is basically black. I'm not sure if this is my TV or the XBOX.
