I softmodded my friends xbox using 007 hack. Everything went fine and dandy, I loaded some nes and snes roms and emul... I returned it to him and it was working fine. He called today and stated that if was broken, so he brought it by my place. It tries to load, there is sound and the flubber thing, but then it starts to flash red and green and give me an error message with no number. I have never seen this before and I have modded about 12 xboxs. I tried installing the old dash using xboxhd maker and when I hooked it all up it worked once then when I turned it off to try a game, it did the green and red thing. I have seached the internet and this site but have yet to find a answer for this particular situation.
I have the eeprom backed up and the hd appears to be working properly cause I can use xboxhd maker with no problems.
any help please?

I did that, still no dice... Should I try a different hdd cause I have an extra one from when I softmodded mine and placed a bigger hd in it. But Im not so sure that the hd is the problem, I first thought maybe the dash was broken or installed wrong but I cant get the orginal working. Can the bios be damaged on mobo??? If so is there a way to reprogram it???
thanks for the response, Im almost at the point where Iam going to just buy him a new one and keep his for parts..........

also, should I rebuild the hd with a different persons original dashboards because I was using his after the softmod. Could the problem be with his programs after I modded them and now Im trying to load those same problems???? (from th back-up folder in his e -drive after softmodding)
Sorry I think that was a little confusing...

lol its all cool. Id start fresh with a clean copy of MS Dash, ill provide the link for you. Just use it as C instead of what you were using b4 and remember to pur the eeprom on it for locking!
that link gives me a 404 error... I will try to surf and find it.... Thanks a lot for your feed back. I will try from scratch.

well there has been a new development in my quest to save this xbox. I copied a backup of a softmod C drive to the C drive of the broken xbox and rebuilt the partitions using this new C drice softmod dash. Now it flashed green and wont get past the X symbol on startup... At keast it isn't flashing red and green lol
I will do some research on this to see if I can find a solution.
anyone with any ideas please????

Well i have solved my problem... I guess the IDE cable or some type of wire is bad and when I placed the case back on the top of the xbox and pushed it down, it caused the problem. So i just played with the wires and placed the case together carefully and didn't tighten the screws all the way and the xbox is back to normal.
thanks for all the help...
