1) you need a chip, whether it be a soilder-less or one that you do
2) install it or pay someone to install it
3) thats it
i dont want any money, but why would u change to a hardmod if you already have a softmod

a softmod is a mod so its modded, sorry mate unless your talking about writing your own homebrew im not sure what you mean! sorry! but if you mean you've softmodded what next then get aid3.1 or 3 and with that you can install all the emulators, programs and media players you like!
It has details on how to mod for the different types of xboxes you may run into, specific tips for each chip this includes installation and the flashing (Copying instruction sets to the chip) and how to install whatever else you may need.
Your question is very very vague and the answers are all right in front of you. There is no need for money here, just your time and some reading. Thats it.
Its not brain science, the first mods with 29 wires were, but now we are down to a pinheader install and with one (2 on 1.6 xbox's) wires to solder (usually).
You will just have inherent knowledge after you have done a few and get a feel for it.
Just make sure your soldering skills are up to par...actually that would be something worth 30 bucks, b/c its delicate stuff and you could ruin a project very easily. This is mostly because people don't have SMD soldering irons that are made for this application and not the radioshack special...which i use, but you just have to be extra careful. _________________ XBOX v1.6
