I'm attempting to install a softmod using SID 4.5 NKnave and I'm having some difficulty.
I've verified that I have the latest dash (5960), I'm using the Mechassault gamesave, I have both the installer and the gavesave needed and everything.
I load the 'Run Linux' gamesave in the Campaign mode in Mechassault and the screen goes blank and the light on the xbox goes from green to orange\yellow and it seems as though nothing is happening. I've waited for an hour or so and shut it off and on again and it boots normally in retail mode, so clearly nothing was installed.
Any ideas on what this is about?
EDIT: Oh and it's the only mechassault gamesave on there too.

the installer is corutped sorry but you didnt load the files to memory card correctly. try doing 1 at a time.
also if you dont have the 1st mechassault copys it doesnt work. online and plat versions dont work and not all normals work either. try finding Sc if it still doesnt work.

I checked the version of the game and it's the one I need, the original. There laser etched number on the back of the disc says "MS02301L" which I'm told is the original anyway.
I also tried what you suggested, putting the files on one at a time, and no luck. I suppose I'll try other installers or another memory card system (I happen to have an xbox usb cable) so we'll see, although I'm still open to other ways in which I may be going wrong.

With sid 4.5 there are two save games you need to copy onto your memory card. One is the mechassualt one and the other is called something else (sorry) I forgot. But the other one is much bigger and comes with the sid 4.5download. You need two savegames. You only have one loaded from the sound of it. _________________ xbox v1.0

Nah, I had that one too.
It's called sid45.installer or something.
It's on there and I had both on my xbox. Still doesn't work.
EDIT: It's called SID45.launcher.
EDIT #2: Just tried it again and no luck. I've followed the procedure to the T. I'm not exactly a noob at stiff like this so I'll attempt a more complicated install than this I suppose. It seems that the irc xbins thing is down though so I'll have to wait. If anyone knows any info on where to get some mechassault exploit files PM me or something.
