I have had this as a working system for sometime over a year.
I modded it for my kids and it has been working great. I notice that they cannot boot the machine into the normal mode (X3 LED is red). The screen shows an error 05, the eject light flashes long red and short green.

I boot into EvolutionX dashboard and go to settings and scroll to System Utilities then to Settings.

Under Harddisk and Security I see that lock is disabled. I was banned from XBOX Live about 1 year ago and changed this to "locked" before and that fixed it. Now it is unlocked again. I dodn't know how to change this back to locked. I searched under "flashing red and green" and "code 05" and HDD unlocked and several versions of the problem I have and can only find vague items that suggest I need to reload my original eeprom.bin file.

I made a backup of my C: and D: drives of the xbox when I first installed the modchip and put EvoX on it. I do not remember having to change or deal with an eeprom.bin file before to lock this HDD.

This is the original Harddrive that was on the machine when I bought it .

I made the subject line one that would be searchable since I could not find any definitive help on this problem.

I used to be a V.I.P. member. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

It works great with them Modchip (X3) enabled, but error code 05 when it is not.

put config-magic on there as an app and use that it will lock the drive..

you should be able to re lock the HDD via the evox dash menu. Where it says lock disabled push the A button(possibly how it was unlocked in the first place)
