But before I throw $140 out of the window I thought I would check if anyone knows something I don't.

Never had a problem soldering ever before but tonight I was soldering in a Aladdin Advance for the neighbour (little kid) and I got too much solder over the point at the 3.3 volt and thought I would be clever and scrape it off whilst still hot - not very clever the whole thing came off. Anyone know if there is any solution other than using the thing for scraps?

Thanks guys

try using a window defogger repair kit to repaint the broken traces. it can conduct electricity, and use a detail brush to apply it. mask it off with electical tape..and be carefull. but it can be done.

Check out (and buy) the Xbox Repair Guide at www.xboxrepairguide.com/ (realmccloy will back me up on this recommendation... I bought it after reading a post of his recommending it). There is a section on repairing broken traces.... the author basically solders the two points together. The window defogger repair kit idea sounds very interesting however.

At the website, you can buy a bundle of his guides... Xbox, PS2, & Nintendo GC & GBA. I bought the bundle myself... thought I'd try putting an Afterburner on a GBA!
