Hopfully you guys can help me out here. I recently put a Aladdin Advance chip into my xbox v 1.1. After installation my xbox whould not work kept flashing diff colors and whould turn off turn back on turn off and back on. I got frustrated with it and took the chip out thinking everything would be fine.
Now when I turn my xbox on, it will turn on and off about 3 or 4 times like its trying to start up and then stay on but flash red and green over and over again. Im not sure what that means and was wishing maybee one of you whould know? I dont care about having the modchip in there anymore I just want my xbox to work again

I'm not familiar with Aladdin Advance chip, but if you've done ANY soldering, the first thing I'd recommend is checking to see if there are any stray solder splashes or solder bridges. Also, check to see if you've damaged any of the traces. I'm no expert, but experts will follow with their opinions. For now, just look for any stray solder or broken traces around where you were working (I'm betting it's one of these two FIXABLE problems).
If not, I'm GUESSING that something serious may be afoot with the motherboard.
Either way, you MUST finish the mod! You've risked too much to back out now!

What you have going on is called a frag (frequent red and green light)
Was this a solder job??
If so, Xboxter is correct. Chances are you boogered up your motherboard somewhere.
Take a careful look at your motherboard and see if you can find anything that you did.
If you can't, please PM me if you are in the states. I can help you out with repairing your motherboard if repairable.
I only charge if I can fix it.

dude i have the same problem on a xbox i got from a buddy. he failed at a mod job... i tried to fix it... it boots sometimes, but most of the time it frags... when that happens i just smack the shit out of it a couple times and it usualy boots up. _________________ XBOX360

Thanks for all the replys. Im gonna check tonight and see if its a splash or trace that is broken. I had a hell of a hard time with the D0 point. This chip basically has 6 or so points on the lpc bus it solders into and then two wires that are on the board. I guess getting a soldering iron from auto zone wasnt the greatest idea. Im also a noob at soldering lol.
Relmcoy, how much would you charge for somthing like this. Lets say its a broken trace. How much would it be to fix the trace and put the modchip in correctly?

It just depends on what I have to do to it.
I don't charge anything unless I get it fixed though, so if I spend a few hours on it and come up with nada, it costs you nothing. But, to be honest I am very reasonable and fair. If no parts are involved then you are probably looking at $20.00 to $40.00 depending on how far I have to go.
If parts are involved I give the parts at cost and make no extra money. But, I don't do anything without consulting you first.
But, smacking the shit out of it is far cheaper...HA
