hey guys..I could purchase the actual game for xbox but i was just wondering. I have Halo (the first one) for PC and i was wondering if it was possible to port it to xbox or if there are any emulators cabible of running it. My current xbox is a debug xbox so it has different capabilities than others...but i dont know exactly how much better it is. I have Visual Studio 2003 with the XDK installed aswell. Could i just convert the PC game? idk....if i cant do anything with it ill just buy the xbox version to save me the trouble.
thanks for you help in advance

lol yeah i know...but i was just thinking of doing it for the practice...just in case i have a game that isnt on xbox already. also it would help me to make my game. ive been trying to learn C++ in Visual Studio 2003 so i can make my own xbox game but i thought that this "project' would help me to understand it a bit more.
just to say i did it lol
doesnt matter though

you'd be better off trying to code your own dashboard at first then move onto games programming. You may even create a dashboard better than the current offerings, that would really be something wouldnt it

Porting halo would be like turning Sugar water into regular water. You're downgrading an amazing PC version. Keep it on PC, it'll run better. Hell, it was XPlay's first 5 out of 5... the Xbox version only got a 4 out of 5. Remember that, lol _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

ok so say i did want to make my own dashboard...how would i go about doing that? would i create the project in Visual Studio as an Xbox Application instead of a game? most likely right? or maybe i could make an emulator that acts like a pc so i could just run the game cd/dvd in the xbox and use the xbox controller to interact in the game! thats what im really looking for but all the emulators i see only do DOS. i have the AID3 pack but idk if any of the emulators in there will do what im looking for. i never use AID3 on my xboxes anyway i prefer SID2 for some reason lol. anyway let me know if you know of any emulators or how i could go about making a dash or emulator myself.

The best thing to do is look at the source codes for the dashboards, you can easily find them. _________________

would they be on my xbox? i have Evox installed...or would they be in the AID3 files? or do i search them on the net. i have some experience with the evox.ini file cause i had to add a menu item "XDK Debug" to it. i guess id have to completely re-do it to make my own right?
