this is long as i put in as much info as i could about what i have done so far
i got a a xbox versio0n 1.6,from a friend who said it was working fine.
booted the xbox up and it just had a black screen,i hit the tray button and the tv screen flickered and wham had the xbox logo but nothing else nothing under it.very wierd never seen that before.
so i put in my xenium 24k solderless mod chip
which is flashed with evox.m8 which i use on all my xboxes just fine.
so i boot into the chip can see the hd can ftp into it seems fine told the chip to boot into the evox dashboard so i could run aid3.0 on the hd.
i see no animation it just goes right into the xbox logo with the evox in pink the upper left side of the screen and seems to just hang there doing nothing.
tested it differnt times with didfernt flashes still hangs at the xbog logo doesnt go into the dash board.
now here is what is wierd i used the eeprom off this xbox to fix anoth4er 1.6 i got from a guy who screwed it up by putting a version 1.1 eeprom in it.
after i flashed it with that prom using the xenium wham that box is working great now with softmod.
anyonje have any ideas why the first xbox hangs at the xlogo even with the chip installed?
i know its not the eeprom its not the chip for somereason its just not booting the bashboard at all

Try inserting a Splinter Cell Mech Assualt or 007 non PH versaion disc and see if it loads. This is exactly what an incorrectly soft modded one will do. If it works then remove the softmod and start over with your chip.

tryed redoing the softmod and redoing the hd using
uxe-complete-v0.2.2
xboxhdm_v1.9
since i was able to get the eeprom off the box with the keys.
still does the same thing just hangs at the giant x
even used the eeprom from this broken box and put it on another 1.6
the eeprom worked fine set up the hd and all and put it in the broken box.
same thing goes to the giant x with xbox under it and nothing else jwont boot a dvd or anything no dashboard no errors,etc.
even unhooked the hd and dvd rom it just starts up to a pinpoint of light no errors no flashing led nothing

Will it load the 3 softmod games?

nope it wont load anything at this point.
noticed its not playing the animations when it starts up its locking on it ,if you opne the dvd tray it goes to the xbox logo.
no animation at all
if i unplug the hd and dvd and start it its just a blnk screen

Have you tried it with the controller ports unplugged? Just another idea, they have caused error screens and power cycling before.

the powersupply is out of a working 1.6 box so i know the power supply is good .
unhooking the controllers didnt work
it still freezes at the animations then if you open the dvd drive it goes to the xbox screen .
wondering if the video chip is going bad ,anyway to tell or check it?

something could have happened to the Bios on the motherboard itself. Has this xbox been opened before? if so, even the smallest static discharge can screw it all up. Im not positive this happened lol fore it ususally fries the motherboard completely, but if it was a small enough discharge in the right place it could have messed with the Bios.
