I've been trying to boot the xbox as a regular xbox, then select "Settings", then "System Info", then put in Y, Up (Left thumb stick), Down (Left Thumb), X, A

But nothing happens ???

Most of the sites i've searched on how to reformat an xbox HDD just state the above method ??

Dashboard went mental, i need to wipe the xbox's memory

If you have a xenium then boot to the os2 and then go to repair upgraded drive. One of my xbox's has this and one does not. On the one you want to fix.....hhhmmmm maybe backup your systems and bois files via FTP, then use XBMC to manually delete the files you need, do not power off and then move unaltered files for the evo x from your pc via FTP, along with the above mentioned backups. I know this only works if you have xbmc or some other alternative dashboard installed. Good luck and I hope this helps, hopefully you have the OS2.
