right first off I have tried buring the iso for ADI 3.10 a number of times and am still getting disc not recognized! Do I need a chip on the mainboard before the xbox will even let me use AID of a DVDR disc or should it be working?

may sound like a stupid question, but is your x-box modded in any way? i.e chipped or softmodded?

Your xbox will not read AID without being chipped first. The chip has to be installed and flashed with a bios so it can read the disc. The otheralternative is to softmod it using exploits, but I'll leave that topic for those that know how to softmod...lol _________________

no it isnt modded in any way so will I need a xbox usb adapter to softmod my xbox if its not chipped?

no ur xbox doesnt have to be chipped but u do need to either soft mod or hard mod it the best way is to ask a friend that has a moded xbox and let him copy the sid and the linux game save (splinter cell,007 or mechassult) then copy one of them to ur xbox then use the game and launch the linux game save thren poping aid 3.0
P.S i also download ed aid3.10 and it read it but when i launched it ti didnt work

What did it do? Did you try and cold boot it? Did you give it time to boot? _________________

I dont know anyone else with a soft moded xbox but if I use splinter cell,007 or mechassult to save the linux os I dont need a xbox usb to upload via the computer? is that correct?

I had a dimilar problem Top. Didn't load or took an age. I just re-burned it and added a dummy file.
Works a dream now

once I have used a usb device/action replay and succesfully softmoded my system will I be able to play my backed up games on normal DVD-R media without the system having a chip? Or do I need a chip to do that?
