OK, ive softmodded a 1.1 NTSC Xbox with a 320 gig harddrive. It works perfectly fine with the standard video cable. But when i hook it up with the component video cables the screen is scrambled. I have tried to install the high def patch and uninstall the high def patch but it doesnt help. Also when i turn on the xbox with the eject button and boot to the SID menu it displays pefectly fine. And when im in the SID menu if i use the file browser to go to the evox.xbe file and click on it the display is fine when the xbox boots Evox. I should also note that my tv is not high def but only has the component video inputs. Any help would be appreciated.

A non-HD tv connected with components shouldn't need anything at all changed from stock. The only thing that I can think of is that the dash is detecting and automatically turing HD on. Try disabling it all in your dash menus when using composite, and then change over to HD.

Do you have a PAL XBOX?? Or NTSC XBOX..

PAL Xboxes do not support HDTV out of the box and may need to be switched over to NTSC mode using the Enigmah Video Selector which is available on the Auto Installer Deluxe DVD..

Hope that helps..

just trying to give you other ideas.

I have an NTSC v1.6 XBox and I have the exact same issue.
Everything shows up fine in S-video but Evox is scrambled in Component.

Tried only installing high def patch but didn't help.

I have found that once the softmod is installed, component out will be in 480P and can be changed too 720p or 1080i in NTSC mode, and it seems impossible too put it in 480i, and this would be reason it would be scrambled on a SDTV that doesn't support progressive.

And that HDTV patch does nothing different whether you install it or not.
