Ive got the v1.4 xbox with the alladin EX chip and evox as my default dash. I'm looking to put a new hard drive into it. I can get a 300gb one for 90 euro(105 dollars). What i want to know is whats the easiest way to install it. I cant really put it into my computer as i have a laptop and the hard drive is smaller. If i get AID and put the new hard drive in, then boot the installer disk would that work??

Looks like your Hardmodded so it sould be ez to do just use the AID disk to format the drive.

But I think it might be a good idea to see if the drive your looking at can be locked.

someone who knows more well tell you more.

With a chip the drive does not need to be locked unless you want to play on Live!.

As for the drive, basicly you replace the drive in the xbox, power up, put in the aid disk, and it will prompt you to format the drive, at which point you can then install your dashboard/etc to conform with how your bios is setup.

find out if the hard drive you wish to buy is compatible over here. Just type the model number and see if it works and is lock enabled (better if you have xbox live).
