I bought a memorex dvd+r dl, and my xbox wont read it. It was 10$ for 3 dvds. I thought since i had a Samsung, it could read a lot of different types of media, well i was wrong. I previously used crappy Nextech dvd+r's, which smelled like sardines, and the dvds worked. I dont know if there is a guide, but i think there should be a guide that explains each type of drive, and what they can read.
Ah, pooh. I wish i had taken the time to see that.

I've been using Taiyo-Yuden and Maxell on my Xbox's Samsung drive for years without any problems, that compatability chart sure helps out, that's the firts time i've seen it. _________________ Xbox V1.3

I have tried Ridata and Verbatim DL disks on my Sammy drive and Phillips drive and had no joy whatsoever. I have terrible luck with Memorex and Maxell period....
I am pretty sure my DL failures were user error though. I never took the time to figure out what I did wrong, as I found other ways to shrink games down to fit on a standard DVD5 disk anyway. _________________ Xbox 1.4

Nope, I dumped all my Tommys off. All I have are Sammys, Phillips, and an unmodded Sammy 616 that I haven't ever bothered with. _________________ Xbox 1.4

I am betting it's my burning process. All I did was try to burn my Ninja Gaiden backup to a DL by using CXboxTool 2 to make the .iso and then just using my DVD Burning program Clone DVD2 to burn the .iso to DL disk.
I am guessing if I would take the time and try a few things with Nero I would have better success. _________________ Xbox 1.4
