Well,
I got creative a little.. I'm positive it's something that's been done a million times before but I'm proud of it. Lol. I was playing around with GentooX and like I got really tired of typing with the On-Screen Keyboard.. So I decided to figure out a way to wire up a USB port for a spare keyboard I had here at the house. I figured the Xbox is basically a computer. Why couldn't you? So then later I found out that all the gameports were basically USB with an extra wire.. So I opened my xbox again, Took out the DVD Drive and Hard Drive and cut the wire off the 3rd and 4th Gameports and wired them straight to an old USB PCI Slot I had.. Then I took the USB ports off the pci card slot holder. And ended up with this...
It may not be the prettiest thing in the world but it works. And its easily accessible. The only downfall that I had and I didn't like too much was the fact that I had to get rid of the 3rd and 4th gameport. For some reason they interfered with the USB ports even when nothing was hooked up to them. I assumed I wouldn't be able to have controllers and a keyboard hooked up on the same port on the board, but I thought it might allow for one or the other so it wouldn't render the 3rd and 4th gameport useless. But oh well. Maybe I'll figure out a way around that later. I just thought I'd post this cause I was kinda proud of it. Lol.

you should have opened up the controller ports and ran wires to the usb ports and still have access to the controller ports. Im planing on doing something similar but cut a small rectangle for the ports on the front panel on my slimbox

Also if you have a thumb drive you can connect it directly to the xbox without a wire connector as well _________________
I wanted it for using a keyboard, a mouse, a pen drive, camera, printer, anything i want... Unfortunatly i was just recently disappointed to find out that XBMC wouldn't support an external hd... although im sure i could make it work in gentoox... but that wouldn't help me that much oh well.. maybe i'll find a way around that one one day...
