ok, i decided to try to softmod my xbox using this tutorial http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/311710 and somehow i screwed it up, I can't restore the original MS dash, i can't uninstal the softmod and the only way to get to the mod is to boot up splinter cell and load the LINUX savegame. I can't FTP anything over for some reason, and i already have the latest MS dash on my pc. i'm using a crossover cable to direct connect my xbox to my laptop right now, but it won't work and i'm using flashFXP, should i call xbox for repairs? its still under warrnty, please help!!!

ha ha ha yeah could do but they'd be real pissed cos you tried to hack their pride and joy.
you can still boot the exploit so thats good. my bet is something went wrong with the dash renaming. Run the exploit and try the process all over again.

when i try to install the softmod again the percent bar comes up and starts, but stops almost immediatly and says "error: an error occured while copying 'E'. error code: 112" yes i'm sure its 112

Error 12 is Kernal: Parameters. Its not very common. But ive never heard of a 112 .
For error 12, make sure all the plugs and junk are plugged in.

I think your going to need to restore the dashboard and eeprom.

i would restore the dash but it can't i think i accidently deleted it when installing

ok, i managed to connect the ftp and all i want to do is uninstall the hack and reinstall the MS dash, so can anbody help me with very detailed instructions, i am a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff

Ok, im not very good about softmods, so im not an expert. But someone will come along who is very talented.
Use the AID disc, because that has the Microsoft 5960 dash on it.
