It probably comes with static settings. Try FTPing into the xbox and manually configuring the mimesis config file

this is what the config file should have

Code:
<IPSettings>
    <!--  Network Type                                        --->
    <!--    Here is where you specify how Mimesis will        --->
    <!--    connect to your network and hopefully be          --->
    <!--    able to see the internet. You have three          --->
    <!--    choices when specifying the type:                 --->
    <!--      dhcp                                            --->
    <!--      static                                          --->
    <!--      dashboard                                       --->
    <!--    DHCP and Dashboard both will ignore the static    --->
    <!--    settings below, such as IPAddress, Subnet, etc.   --->
    <!--    However do not leave them blank. If you want to   --->
    <!--    blank those out, simply put a - there instead.    --->
     <Type>dashboard</Type>

    <IPAddress>192.168.0.2</IPAddress>
    <SubnetMask>255.255.255.0</SubnetMask>
    <DefaultGateway>192.168.0.100</DefaultGateway>
    <DNS1>0.0.0.0</DNS1>
    <DNS2>0.0.0.0</DNS2>
  </IPSettings>

set type to dashboard to use the dash ip settings
the following line you have configured
Code:
<Static>Enabled</Static>

is an error, thats why you get the error message

If you boot up XBMC with DHCP network settings, rss newsfeeds will be displayed in the home screen, therefore confirming your xboxes connection to the internet.

So you have your xbox plugged into your pc, and your pc connected to the 'net, right? Now I'm no whizz with networking, but i think if you enable Internet Connection Sharing on your network device, your xbox should be able to connect to the internet.

Can you FTP into the xbox? If you can then you have to do what roo said, and enable internet connection sharing on your NIC

What was the exact error? Something about the IP isn't very descriptive

ICS uses a default IP of 192.168.1.1 this could be part of the problem.

okay it says "an error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled..Internet connection sharing cannot be enabled. A Lan connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP adressing"
